Action Shots are the Hardest

Every photographer knows that action shots are the hardest to get. They require the right speed of film, a steady camera, and perfect timing. This is true whether you are shooting swimming, football, or simply trying to capture your children jumping on the trampoline. But horse racing photos are even more challenging than any of these. Horses are faster than humans for one thing, so everything is intensified. Additionally, racing fans expect you to capture such details as the flare of the horse’s nostrils and the stance of the rider. This takes an excellent camera and years of practice to get perfect.
