Is there paypal protection for sellers on Chargebacks?

Well, if you are on ebay or rather have some information about the site you probably have heard the talk about how paypal is a safe means of making payment and the caution given to buyers against using other payment methods other than paypal. With this kind of “advice” from paypal, it has been very difficult for sellers to convince them otherwise. This means that when you are a seller, be aware that payments of nearly all transactions you are going to make are going to be effected through paypal. But the big question is, does paypal offer the same kind of protection it extends to buyers to sellers? Consider the number of paypal fraud cases reported everyday and you will be in a better position of answering this question. For instance, sellers are increasingly becoming victims of paypal chargeback fraud cases. This is where a buyer reverses the transfer of funds from their credit card back to them after a seller has already shipped an item to them according to their transaction agreement. The reality is, paypal does not have any policies at the moment that protects sellers from unnecessary chargebacks. This has been the reason why sellers are very vulnerable to chargeback fraud. Even though for every chargeback you are going to be returned back your item, as long as the buyer knew very well what they were buying and the item fits the description you had provided, a seller is not supposed to be given back their item for a refund unless they agree. Considering that you also have PayPal Charges that one has to meet, the additional risks that sellers are being exposed to are making sellers’ success on ebay to be just too much of a struggle. It is time paypal does something to protect sellers or soon sellers will want nothing to do with paypal.
