Risks in Formulation Development
Have you ever wondered how it cam to be that a particular medical professional knows exactly what type of dosage of a drug to give you and at how many intervals during the day to cure whatever may be wreaking havoc on your body? Recently when I was called in to change the dosage on a particular drug I had to ask why all the experiments on me instead of at he experimental stage. It turns out that the formulation development has worked out all the kinks in their systems but every individual has such a different system that they start out the safest dose and increase for effect.
