Benefits of an Alkaline Diet

An alkaline diet is found to be helpful in relation to gastric problems like ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation and diverticulosis. A natural way of cleansing our system is possible with fiber-rich alkaline foods, as this does not have the undesirable side effects of laxatives and other special cleansing powders with fibers and herbs. Minerals like calcium and potassium, which are alkaline, are needed to keep arthritis and inflammation of joints etc. in control; but are lost when our body becomes more acidic. An alkaline diet improves the body’s pH levels and the complex carbohydrates and dietary fibers supplied by an alkaline diet help to keep and maintain constant energy levels.
