A Dental Implant Is Not Insurance-Friendly

Severe trauma on your mouth may cause you to lose a tooth. When this happens, one of your options to replace the missing tooth is to get a dental implant. However, since implants are considered as part of cosmetic dentistry, your dental insurance may not cover it, especially since it can be a very expensive procedure. Therefore, before getting an implant, it would be wise for you to read the fine print on your policy. Nevertheless, if you lost your tooth due to an accident, then your medical insurance might just pay for it. Of course, before you take a step further, you should call your insurance carrier to clarify or ask your dentist to call them to ask if any of the work might be covered.
